Therapeutic camping experience
for foster and adoptive parents and children

Welcome To Nurturing In Nature

Nurturing in Nature is a therapeutic camping experience for foster and adoptive families. Nature is where discovery and play happen best.  Nature supports families to regulate, enabling them to be open to connection, fun and new experiences.

Over two nights and three days camping,  foster and adoptive families will experience much needed joy and fun. The programme is underpinned by attachment and sensory integration theory and is an opportunity for families to learn and practice new skills in a safe, fun and supportive environment with like minded others. The programme is facilitated throughout by trained practitioners.

We appreciate the significant role carers and professionals have in the lives of children who have experienced trauma.  Rockfield is a calm and nurturing space to rejuvenate the team around the child.   We facilitate team building, with a focus on new learning, fun and self care.

We are committed to offering the most relevant and helpful training to both professionals and carers.  Our training programme for 2023 includes DDP, The Buss Model, Meaning of the Child, Child Attachment Play Assessment to name a few.

Everybody Deserves Camp!

‘The Therapeutic Camp experience has helped my children become more aware that there are other children in Foster Care for many reasons and they are not alone. They are also learning and becoming aware it is Ok to be different such as family dynamics like Foster Care, disability, ethnic background, sexual orientation, and other preferences etc. It is my opinion that the above experience has given my children more confidense in themeselves to be who they are and accept and like themeselves for who they are.’

Our Testimonials

"Hearing the screams of laughter brought me back in time"

There was a sense of calm and relaxation about the few days. Hearing the screams of laughter brought me back in time. There was a sense of calm and relaxation about the few days. There was no pressure whatsoever and I think the kids got a sense of freedom and independence for the few days and relished that, it was all about the safe space.

"It was such a great way to meet other foster
families"

I would highly recommend the camp to all foster families, It was such a great way to meet other foster families. The children were so relaxed and when we go to training courses we foster parents always want to stay on and chat and Rockfield gave us the space and time to do that. This camp is something special
